Zakira Beasley teaches in the Sufi lineage of Hazrat Inayat Khan and Samuel L. Lewis. She began on the Sufi path nearly 30 years ago, and following in the footsteps of Murshid Sam also studies and practices Buddhist teachings.

As founder and executive director of a social services organization in Santa Fe NM, and for the past eight years administrative director of an educational business in the computer technology field, she is interested in how inner realization is integrated into day to day life. She enjoys working with teachers in different spiritual traditions, and co-leads a Vipassana meditation retreat each winter in North Carolina.

Zakira lives near Charlottesville Virginia and works and teaches in the local community. As wife and mother, business manager, gardener, teacher and friend, her teaching style reflects her experience that each of us embodies a unique expression of the Divine, and that it is this singular being-ness which desires to be known and lived.
